Rainscreens

Rainscreen cladding systems are a type of facade system that are designed to provide protection against water penetration and moisture damage in buildings. These systems consist of an outer skin or cladding layer, which is separated from the building structure by an air gap, creating a “rainscreen” effect. The air gap allows for the circulation of air, which helps to prevent the build-up of moisture and condensation on the building envelope.

Rainscreen cladding systems can be made from a variety of materials, including metal, stone, glass, terracotta, and composite materials. The cladding panels can be attached to the building structure using a variety of methods, including mechanical fixings, adhesives, and interlocking systems.
